The Interview...

...was a little scary; definitely what you might call an adrenaline rush!

The Clinical Director (a Neuropsychologist), Senior Speech & Language Therapist, Senior Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Professional Lead all took it in turns to ask me questions.

Everything was going well - until I started to speak...

The first thing they did was introduce themselves to me and I thought it might be a good idea to recount their names back to them; you know to demonstrate that I'd taken in the information and attached a degree of importance to the individual by remembering their names; alas my plan was foiled when I got their names totally mixed up and in so doing, all I managed to prove was that my own short term memory and executive functions are in need of some attention!

Well, at least it broke the ice and I got a laugh out of them...although I'm not sure that it's a good sign when the interviewers are laughing at you?! Och well, such is (my) life.

My nerves settled down a bit after that and I managed to answer their questions with a bit more professionalism. I can honestly say that I gave it my best shot and that's all you can do eh?

Time will tell. I'll keep you posted ;0)
