Green Trousers

For the first time in about 5 years I find myself clad in the rather attractive occupational therapy green trousers, which have seams right down the front, emphasising their stylish drain pipe look; oh yeh, sexy lady ;0)

My first few days as a locum have gone quite smoothly so far. I'm currently involved in obtaining evidence for a guardianship order, placating distressed relatives and carrying out cognitive assessment and rehabilitation on stroke patients, some of which is quite harrowing actually.

The other OTs are all very friendly and helpful and although I was feeling a little overwhelmed on my first couple of days, I had a good "clarifying expectations" chat with the head OT this morning and that has really put me at ease.

Received an invitation to interview for a very interesting job in Glasgow in a specialised unit for acquired brain injury today. The centre deals solely with individuals who have residual cognitive deficits following brain injury and I would be very excited to work in this area, however my experience of working in brain injury is limited and the chances of me actually getting the post are pretty slim.

Of course I am forever hopeful since it is my dream job,...plus I wouldn't have to wear these hideous green trousers any longer...please God!
