Sumner is here, no mistake about it!
This weekend I took some time out to reflect on the last couple of years here in NZ and try to gather up all the amazing things I've learnt so that I don't forget them when I go home. I stayed in a retreat out in a place called Sumner. I've been there before, it's in a beautiful setting, looking out towads the sea and inside there is an incredibly cute wee chapel, which I enjoy spending time in. I was the only one staying there on Saturday night so I had the place all to myself which was ideal.
On Sunday I woke up and looked out towards the sea but could not see a thing because of this incredibly thick mist that was covering the entire bay in Sumner, however the mist gradually began to lift and it turned out to be a real scorcher of a day. Typically I was in no way prepared for this, no proper t-shirts or sun screen, however I was not going to let this stop me from getting out and about.
After spending the morning by myself I needed someone to talk to...as most of you will know I can only handle the silent retreat thing in small doses! :0) Andrew, one of my flat mates came out to meet me and we went for a walk along Taylor's mistake, it was even hot enough to go swimming! The kiwi summer has finally arrived, my sunburnt skin is evidence of this.
