Up, up and away!
After having pancakes and maple syrup on Sunday morning with the rest of the hens, I met up with Lynton and Philippa, who were also having a wee break in Hamner. After catching up and doing some reading, Lynton and I went mountain biking up Jacks pass; phewie it was hard work!
As I climbed I found myself saying cheerio to the wine, pancakes, maple syrup and of course the white, dark, light, milky and nutty varieties of chocolate from the hens weekend; they just rolled off down the hill, some fell into the stream beside me and were washed clean away. They had been my friends over the weekend but I wasn't too sad to see them go since I was beginning to get acquainted with the locals of Hamner springs; fresh air, spring water and beautiful sights and they were proving to be much healthier companions!
It took me about an hour to get to the top of the pass, however, found it thoroughly exhilarating and the views over the valley were spectacular, not to mention the fun that was to be had descending the mountain!
The kiwi's have taught me the value of making the most of the outdoors and I hope to continue my explorations back at home, anyone keen on keeping me company just let me know! :0)
