Final supervision session
I've just had my last official supervision session with Lynton and Simon and it was kind of sad to realise that I am definitely moving on and leaving behind such a great community of people who know what it means to live out their faith without getting all caught up in religion.
Upon reflection I think one of the most significant lessons I have learnt during my time in New Zealand has been that my God is the living God; yes life can be challenging at times and yes it can be difficult to understand what God is doing sometimes but ultimately I do believe that God is in control and that I can trust Him and rely on Him. He is not my "imaginery friend", as one of my flat mates insists on calling Him, but the Creator, my provider and the Lord of my life...I believe this and have experienced it in a very real and tangible way over the last two years, thanks to His amazing grace and goodness in my life.
The National leadership team gave me a pendent made from Maori green stone, which has been hand carved in the shape of a ferns' frond; apparently it symbolises a blessing for safe travel overseas and growth and maturity...I think! Anyway, it is really quite beautiful and I will wear it with pride.
I know it will be great to go back to Scotland but I am definitely going to miss New Zealand, more than I think I care to admit!
Hmmmm.
