Party in the Pavillion

Last night I ended up at an artists party in the middle of a forest in Glasgow!

The party was fun, although on the way there, as I walked down the tiny wee path (in a very random part of the city), I must admit I was a little skeptical about the location...Anna (an old family friend) led me through the trees in the half light, alongside a wee burn until, finally (!), we came to a clearing and then "ta da!" there stood this quintessentially English-style cricket pavillion with several creative types milling around outside over a BBQ.

Anna introduced me to all her demiurgic friends, which was great if slightly embarrassing, since she kept telling them that she remembered holding me when I was a baby! The live music was quite alternative and added to the peppy atmosphere.

I really enjoyed catching up with Anna who is an environmentalsit and lives a very pricipled life. I was fascinated to learn more about her beliefs; she doesn't consume anything except for food and drink and the bare essentials. At the moment she has even decided to give up flying, which has major implications as you can imagine; I was very impressed. It was so refreshing to meet someone actually practices what they preach.
