Kiwi Christmas

Christmas in the sun was somewhat bizzare, not that I'm complaining of course, it's just that turkey and Christmas pudding doesn't seem quite right to me without freezin' temperatures and a roaring fire!

I was just outside of Dunedin for Christmas in a wee place called Mosgiel; Gary and I drove down on Christmas eve and met up with my mum and dad, Gregor and his girl friend Nicki and her family. Mum and dad came with me to the candle lit midnight service at the local anglican church, which was packed out. The service was well done; the actual building was quite small so it looked pretty impressive when it was full of candle lit faces.

Christmas day itself was great and everyone was in good form all day; after dinner we played a few games and just relaxed in the sun; quite a novel experience by all accounts! Our kiwi hosts were so good to us, the hospitality we received was wonderful and they even tried to make us feel at home by ordering in tartan napkins especially for us!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas, would be great to hear from you if you get the chance;
