Gradually getting into the Christmas Spirit

Had a great time out in Sumner with the teachers from my work at the primary school on Thursday night. We all went to this Italian restaurant called the Ruptured Duck, which was a good laugh, the staff were very friendly and everyone was in good form.

Last night my friend Aden invited me to a BBQ in Cashmere, which is quite a posh area of Christchurch up on the hill. The flat hosting the BBQ had a great view over the city and you could see right out to the Southern Alps. We ate our BBQ food and watched the sunset, before participating in a competition to see who's wooden aeroplane would fly the furthest...I had to go first because I was a brave Scottish woman (WHATEVER!?), then there was the awards ceremony and then some wee fireworks...I guess it is starting to feel a bit more like the festive season now.

I must confess I am still dreaming of a white Christmas though!
