Harem scarem snow travels

When we woke up on Sunday morning we could not believe our eyes...the middle of March and we were surrounded by at least a foot of snow...Queenspark had been plunged back into the middle of winter over night!
Needless to say, we were quite unprepared for this and began to wonder how on earth we were going to make the bus/train/plane connections necessary for Marie and Susan to return home.

After a few intense moments of weighing up our options, Susan decided to brave it alone in an attempt to get back to Highgreen Manor (in the middle of nowhere....it didn't look likely!!) and Marie and I decided to see how far we would get in my poor wee Peugot, which not only had to contend with the snowy conditions, but also the fact that its clutch was on its last legs and literally hanging on by a thread!
We were amazed that we even managed to get out of Niddrie square! So, with a mixture of unreaslistic optimism and a good dose of fear and trepidation, we headed off in the direction of Preswick airport.

All was going well until we discovered that we were travelling down the slip road onto the M77 in the wrong direction!! Unbelievably, we managed not to collide with the oncoming vehicle whilst simultaneously avoiding getting stuck in the snow and somehow we ended up pointing the right way and travelling in the right direction..wonders'll never cease!

All and all it was a miricle that Marie made it to London at all...since all flights out of Glasgow Airport had been cancelled due to the weather conditions.

We later heard that following an equally uncanny sequence of events, Susan also managed to make it back to her house, her very big house in the country!...

...why is it these senarios seem to follow me around wherever I go?!
