Hectic haggis happenings!

Apologises to those of you who have checked my blog recently, only to discover that I haven't actually up dated it since I've arrived back from the UK! Life is rather busy at the moment, but I just thought I'd drop in quickly to let you know that all is well!

I have been having a great time here in New Zealand, seeing folks back home has had a strangely reassuring effect on me, you all seem to be doing well and I think seeing that for myself has kind of put my mind at rest! I also think going home has really helped me to appreciate the great opportunity I have here to live and minister amongst such a great bunch of people and since my return I actually feel a lot more settled, in fact it's a wee bit unnerving, if that makes sense! I've even started to investigate the possiblitiy of applying for residency to give me a wee bit more time here, although that is just a thought at the moment.

Of course there is no danger of me ever neglecting my Scottish roots! The other day I made a Scottish meal for the students in my Navs group, the ingredients were as follows; take my mum's "Arbroath Smokies" soup recipe (to die for!), add some haggis, neeps & tatties, along with a decent helping of butterscotch sauce and pears and feed to a bunch of hungry Kiwi students, serve with a few poetry recitals and a lot of tartan; in an attempt to reflect something of Scottish culture (ahem!); well it was a good laugh anyway!

More soon love Ayley
