Weddingtastic

As per usual my life has been racing along at a fair pace. The run up to Christmas was unavoidably manic since I had my own Occupational Therapy student, a lass from Ayreshire called Susan, who had a placement in the Occupational Therapy Horticulture Project and I was attempting to juggle being her Supervisor along with trying to tie up my own case load and participate in all the festivities both in and outside of work as well as attending two weddings!

As for my plans for New Zealand...............well that was actually put on a back burner for a while out of shear necessity. In the midst of all that I went to Danielle and John's wedding. It was a real privilege to be there and the day went very well all things considered. The speeches at the meal were particularly moving; Danielle's brother was quite emotional during his speech and that sent most of the females in the room off in tears! I was particularly impressed with Chris Mainland's Best man speech, which I found quite amusing and had Danielle blushing at several points! We all had a good dance during the Ceilidh and I had a chance to chat to Amy, Dave Bradley and Mikee; I also saw Gemma, which was lovely; she was a bride's maid and looked amazing!

I was very glad to finally finish up work on Friday 20th December and then I got on the train to go to Laurence and Fiona's wedding...what a wonderful service. I was feeling so relieved and free after finishing up at work and really grateful that everything had gone fairly smoothly. The wedding was great and I caught up with an old school friend, Neil and met his new girl friend, Hannah. Hannah wanted to know about my faith, which made for interesting dinner conversation! Unfortunately after the wedding I was quite unwell and so felt pretty grim on Sunday.

Monday was devoted to completing and sending off my visa forms with all the necessary bits and pieces and Tuesday was my day for my personal Christmas preparations................yep you guessed it; last minute shopping! By the time I got home to Perth I was really exhausted and in need of a break. I did however go to the midnight service at the Baptist church, which is a bit of a tradition for me on Christmas eve. We had a lovely family Christmas together and then I went back to Edinburgh for a bit.
